Their deeper thread engagement in the block, together with the low stretch  properties of the stud's alloy, allows drawing the heads down to well over factory maximum torque without thread failure. Heads can be torqued more accurately, and with less cylinder bore distortion using studs, than when running bolts into aluminum threads. Extra thread length is provided on the studs to compensate for even the most radically milled cylinder heads. Sold in complete sets with all hardware.
